LULA Elevator Construction

Limited Use / Limited Access elevators (LULA’s) are excellent alternatives for public buildings where full size commercial elevators are not practical. These elevators require less space than a conventional elevator. Since these are a relatively new addition to ASME A 17.1, the elevator code book, be sure to check with your local code authority having jurisdiction to ensure they are allowed in your area and for any special requirements.
These elevators have a maximum capacity of 1400 pounds, a maximum speed of
30 feet per minute, and a maximum rise of 35"0’.
